The footwear and handbag industry aims to reach export revenue of US$24 billion in 2020, after hitting $22 billion last year, the industry association said.
Viet Nam has set a goal of earning between US$19.5 billion and $20 billion from footwear, bags and suitcases in 2018, up 10 per cent and 12 per cent from 2017.
Leather and footwear exports in the first eight months topped US$9.64 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.2 per cent, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
